Z1 Motorsports Adjustable Front Upper Control Arms for Nissan 370Z, Infiniti G37, Q40, Q50, & Q60.
Inspected, assembled, re-inspected, and packaged in-house by Z1's trained staff, these FUCAs arrive ready to install right out of the box. A professional alignment is strongly recommended after the installation of the arms. Made of 4130 chrome-moly hardened alloy steel, these arms are strong enough to take any track abuse you can throw at them, while maintaining good ride quality and solid performance. They feature a durable powder coated black and silver veined finish which is attractive for show cars, and chemical resistant. All hardware is custom CNC machined with Black Hard Anodize and Bright Zinc finishes. Z1 Control arms are 100% rebuildable and use sturdy heim joints / ball joints for maximum durability and performance. These ball joints are relatively inexpensive and replacements are readily available HERE.
Z1 Motorsports Adjustable Front Upper Control Arms feature an offset outer ball joint location in order to deliver an optimal caster increase. Increasing the amount of positive caster will increase steering effort and straight-line tracking, as well as improve high-speed stability and cornering effectiveness. Positive caster also increases camber when cornering as the steering angle is increased to keep your Z planted through hard corners.
Our design allows arm length adjustment on both the inboard and outboard ends of the arm, providing the most range of camber adjustment for stance or tracking for the serious motoring enthusiast. Like other aftermarket adjustable tube frame style FUCAs, if a 370Z is lowered more than an inch these arms may contact a vertical metal ridge at the top of the fender well when during hard cornering or bumps. A sound might be heard but it poses no risk or structural damage. We have not seen this issue on Infiniti models and it can be eliminated by clearancing or bending over the sheet metal ridge on the Z34.
STREET VS RACE
Like Z1's other suspension arms, two versions of our front upper control arms are available for purchase. The street version features fully forged bushing ends loaded with Energy Suspension urethane bushings. This provides the most appropriate feel for street-driven cars and offers the least amount of NVH. They are fully serviceable with replacement bushings available and a grease fitting on top for easy routine service.
The race version is ideal for those looking to maximize performance and aren't concerned about increases in NVH. Solid heim-style bushing ends eliminate bushing deflection, providing the most direct feel. The race end's slightly shorter overall length provides more negative camber than the street version. This is ideal for track cars and those looking for more adjustability. Another benefit to the race version is the ability to fine-tune the caster by lengthening the adjuster on one side of the arm. This is only possible on the race version, as the heim joint provides more articulation where this is not possible with urethane bushings.
OPTIONS
In the product options, you can select to add a Z1 Jam Nut Wrench to your order. This is used to aid in the final tightening of the jam nuts after install and alignment and is an important tool used to ensure the jam nuts receive sufficient torque.
