Frustrated by the goofy hood prop rod embarrassing you at car shows and getting in the way while you are working under the hood? The Z1 Hood Strut Kit fits all '09-'16 R35 GTR models and replaces the original hood prop rod with two gas-charged hood struts for a cleaner-looking engine bay and easier service. Installation is simple, the provided mounting bracket and ball stud are installed in existing holes on your GTR's chassis. No modification to the chassis is required.
These hood struts are intended for OE aluminum hoods only. Use with fiberglass or carbon fiber hoods could result in damage. If you are installing these on a carbon fiber or fiberglass hood, we recommend exercising caution when closing the hood to minimize the risk of damage.
Each kit includes:
- 2 - Z1 Hood Struts
- 2 - Lower Mounting ball studs (with captive washer)
- 2 - Hood Mounting Brackets
- Installation Instructions
Each kit is covered by a one-year warranty.

I really liked the Z1 Hood strut kit for my GTR R35 looks good convenient and easy to install , any 12yr old with knowledge of tools and how to use them can install this .

Been waiting for these for a long time from Z1, to avoid all of the Amazon and Ebay kits for my 17 GT-R. I was excited to finally see them on the site and ordered them immediately. My only complaint is that the bracket on one side hits the fender causing it to sit at an angle. This appears to make the hood sit up a tad higher on that side near the windshield. I am running oem fenders and hood and the car has never been wrecked or taken apart in these areas. My old Z1 hopd struts for my 370Z were great, and had a double bolt design on the hood side which I was hoping would be developed in these as well. I would still buy again as they are still IMO the best option for the platform.
