Z1’s Nissan Xterra Subwoofer Upgrade Package delivers deep, clean bass with a simple, vehicle-specific modification-free installation designed for the 2005-2015 Xterra.
This package isn’t just a speaker in a box — it’s a fully integrated system built around a custom Z1 subwoofer enclosure that tucks in the passenger side cavity in the rear cargo area. Because this area allows us a great deal of space, this box houses a full-size driver that delivers powerful performance in a reasonably sized package.
Powering the system is an AudioControl amplifier, mounted on a Z1-engineered bracket under the driver’s seat. A vehicle-specific power harness is included to make the installation as straightforward and reliable as possible.
AudioControl Spike Series Subwoofer:
At the heart of the package is a 12″ AudioControl Spike Series subwoofer — a full-size driver built for serious low-frequency output. Designed to move significantly more air than compact alternatives, the Spike Series delivers deep, hard-hitting bass with authority and control. For those planning to build out a full HiFi system later, you can upgrade to the 5-Channel AudioControl A1100.5. This amp not only drives the sub but also provides four additional channels to power upgraded door and rear speakers, making it the perfect foundation for a complete system. Either of these amplifiers will provide a full 600W of power to the subwoofer as configured.
