The Construction
Behind the factory catalytic converters, heavy-duty cast stainless steel flanges are welded to mandrel-bent 2.5'' stainless steel piping. True-dual exhaust piping leads directly to the heart of the Z1 exhaust system: the large 15'' muffler. Our muffler is designed to best utilize the available space and offer the best fitment under your truck. Our high-flow muffler features an inner layer of stainless-steel packing and an outer layer of fiberglass held in place by a perforated stainless-steel core. Rather than using baffle plates and resonance chambers which negatively affect power, our mufflers use a full-length perforated tube, allowing exhaust gasses to flow through the muffler unobstructed. As gasses pass through the muffler, the exhaust sound is dampened through the dual-layer packing, reducing exhaust volume while maintaining an appropriate exhaust tone. This construction method is proven tough, as it is the same style muffler our motorsports team uses on race vehicles. Behind the muffler, 2.5'' piping runs over the rear axle and to the back of the vehicle. Optional exhaust tips can be purchased for better street appeal.
