Like most Z1 products, the Nissan Titan Control Arm Skid Plate results from many hours of wrenching and repairing trail rigs after a weekend in the woods. Off-roading is a destructive hobby, not necessarily by intent but by nature. We add skid plates across the bottom of the transmission, engine, gas tank, transfer case, etc. We add rock sliders to protect the quarter panels and high clearance bumpers to the front and back in the event we find the limit of the approach and departure angles of our rig. What is the purpose?
More than once, we've found ourselves replacing bent and damaged control arms on our Titan-swapped Frontier. Our techs got tired of constantly having to check suspension arms after every outing, so our engineers did what they do best: made something new.
Z1's Control Arm Skid Plates bolt to the bottom of your Titan control arms, preventing hang-ups and damage from hard impacts. They're made from lightweight Tig-welded aluminum and feature gussets on the inside of the panel. Hardware is either recessed to prevent damage, or smooth head lag-bolts are used where necessary.
