OEM VQ Valve Lifter fits VQ40DE and VQ38DD.

The valve lifter is located in the cylinder head and is seated over the top of the valve spring. These are responsible for maintaining valve lash during engine operation and overtime can wear, creating what is often described as "lifter tick." All engines are susceptible as they wear. Lifter failure can in some cases potentially damage other cylinder head components, so service is recommended soon after this 'tick' becomes audible.
