The OME BP-51 range of high performance, bypass shock absorbers is the result of an exhaustive development process aimed at delivering the ultimate in both comfort and control. Bypass refers to the ability of the hydraulic fluid to bypass the piston by being routed externally to the shock bore; creating a high level of comfort initially but increasing the damping forces as the shock reaches the end of its travel in both compression and rebound. In Old Man Emu BP-51 shock absorbers, the amount of bypass is adjustable so that it can be tailored to suit different terrain, speed and loads.

Modification is necessary for proper installation of the reservoir kit and High Clearance Front Upper Control Arms are required for these extended travel coilovers.
Out of the box these BP-51 coilovers are configured for vehicles with +100lbs of accessories such as a winch and/or a aftermarket bumper. Vehicles with no extra load will be more stiff and harsher ride qualities if the spring pre-load is not reduced. The BP-51 coilovers perform well on their own but really shine when paired with a Z1 Titan Swap Kit.
