The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Sensor is located in the intake manifold and monitors the exhaust gases being recirculated to the EGR valve.
If the EGR Temperature Sensor sends a bad or false reading, the system will likely malfunction. A faulty EGR system can lead to engine performance issues including a rough idle, shaking, a check engine light, or an overall decrease in fuel efficiency and performance.
