These mounts are designed to keep the engine properly positioned, as well as absorb vibrations so you won't feel shakes or tremors from the engine while it runs. A failing or broken Motor Mount can cause the weight of your Nissan's engine to be unequally distributed, possibly causing it to move around while on the road. This can potentially cause new or louder noises under the hood (think metal-to-metal clanking), excessive shaking, or harm to nearby components in your Nissan.
