This is the mid-section muffler portion of the 3.5L R50's exhaust system. The mid-pipe connects the two front-pipes and the rear muffler/tail-pipe assembly. Mufflers are known for being the root of a lot of exhaust leaks. If you live in the north or near a beach it is common for a muffler to begin to rust which later will cause an exhaust leak. Sometimes the interior insulation will deteriorate and shoot out the tail pipe which will require you to replace your muffler.
