This is an OEM Crank Pulley for the VQ40DE in the 2005+ Nissan Frontier. The Crank Pulley is often referred to as the Harmonic Balancer. These pulleys are designed to dampen torsional vibrations from the crankshaft, and minimize bearing and internal part wear by dampening these internal vibrations. When these fail, it is not uncommon for them to slip the belt as they separate, and may cause the belt to 'jump' off of the pulley.
