The U-Bolt is used on your D40 Frontier to properly mount the rear suspension leaf springs. One of the most vital components of leaf spring installation, these Bolts, along with their accompanying Nuts, will provide a secure mount for the spring leaves and axle. If you notice your U-bolts are damaged or worn, they should always be replaced rather than reused as misfitting U-Bolts can cause serious damage to the rear leaf springs.
