This sensor is also known as the Airbag (SRS) Clockspring. Located on the steering column, the clockspring is a very complex connector which allows electrical systems such as the airbag and horn to function regardless of the steering wheel's position. Over time, the clockspring can be damaged or corrode causing faulty connections and undesirable operations.
