Conventional piston retraction/pad spreader tools use a simple screw function to press pistons back into the caliper housing. These are simple tools that function well for old-style single piston calipers. Where these fall short is when calipers have multiple pistons, as they lack the ability to press on pistons located on both sides of the caliper simultaneously.

Schwaben's design, on the order hand, uses a pair of surfaces to simply and efficiently compress pistons back into calipers as opposed to a conventional style which uses a single surface. A must for the toolbox of any modern performance car enthusiast. Compatible with single piston calipers, and a must-have for most 2, 4, and 6 piston calipers.
