The transmission oil pump pressurizes automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to lubricate the system and ensure it operates properly. When the pump or Seal goes bad, the fluid will not be able to make its way throughout the transmission. You may notice symptoms of a bad Seal such as overheating, burning smells, or lubricant on the external casing, and it should be replaced to avoid costly damages. This seal should be replaced any time it is removed.
