Product Description

This is our preferred low temp thermostat upgrade for Nissan VQ40 engines.

This OEM Nissan Thermostat is originally from the 2003-06 Nissan 350Z and features the same fit as as the standard Thermostat for the VQ40 but with a lower opening temp of 170° F compared to the factory VQ40 177° - 182° F opening.

Alternatively a Nismo Thermostat can also be fitted which has an opening temp of 154.4° F, only recommended for use in the most extreme cases, the low operating temp can have a negative impact on power output and fuel economy in many cases.

Mishimoto Low temp thermostats for VQ feature an opening temp of 143.6° F and are also only recommended for extreme cases.

I installed this thermostat along with a new radiator and mount bushings. I wanted a lower temp thermostat for when I tow my boat through the mountains for some extra insurance, works great!!!

Works great and the metal gasket was a big plus. Came with two stickers as well which is always appreciated. Went from temps of 220 to 167-177.

I always like checking thermostats before installation to make sure they are working properly to reduce the risk of redoing the job twice. Bought the 170-degree thermostat to keep motor cooler, when checking thermostat for proper operation I noticed it did not start to open at 170, but at 181 and fully open at 194 degrees. Rated 3 stars since it works fine but not as advertised.

Exact fit and the gasket is well made. Replacing coolant parts before summer on a 105 K Frontier. Also hoses, clamps, and caps.

Awesome product and super fast shipping! I do recommend using a small bead of rtv with the metal gasket. I bought for added insurance for when I'm out adventuring on the trails. Will definitely shop Z1 for all my Nissan needs.

Replaced entire cooling system and decided to try this thermostat. My coolant temps are lower than before, but not too low. If doing towing or off roading, this is a must.
