Frustrated by the goofy hood prop rod embarrassing you at car shows and getting in the way while you are working under the hood? The Z1 High-Lift Hood Strut Kit fits all '90-'96 300ZX models and replaces the original hood prop rod with two high-lift gas-charged hood struts for a cleaner-looking engine bay and easier service. To improve upon other designs, two rubber bumpers were added to the underside of each bracket to prevent paint damage in the engine bay.

Installation is simple; the provided mounting bracket and ball stud are installed in existing holes on your Z32's chassis. No modification to the chassis is required. After installation, you gain an additional 12'' of underhood space at the leading edge of the hood.

Now available in three different versions!

• Low Pressure - Intended for use with carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods. These struts have a very low closing pressure, designed specifically for hoods made from materials that may be compromised or damaged from use with higher-pressure gas struts.
• Medium Pressure - Intended for use with OEM aluminum hoods. This option may also be used with fiberglass or carbon fiber hoods, however, we recommend exercising caution when closing.
• High Pressure - Intended for use with heavy aftermarket steel hoods. These hoods are aftermarket OE replicas often found on cars that may have had an accident in the past and been rebuilt with non-OE grade parts. These struts should never be used on carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods.
