The Z1 Motorsports Fiberglass Thermal Blanket is our ultimate heat barrier. Easy to use heat barrier designed to protect against radiant heat produced by engines, turbos, exhaust system components, and other heat sources in tight environments.
This barrier is made from thin lightweight dimpled aluminum with high temperature heat resistant fiberglass backing offering an exceptional performance to weight ratio. With an overall material thickness of approximately 10mm, the Z1 Thermal Blanket offers outstanding protection when used on transmission tunnels, firewalls, or anywhere on the under body where radiant heat is a problem! Although the material works best uncompressed, the fiberglass backing can be compressed an additional 2-4mm providing even more clearance in confined spaces.
The easy to form .5mm thick aluminum makes fitting in tight areas that demand complex bends a breeze, giving the user the ability to flex and contour the material to fit nearly any shape or body line required. The barrier can be used with the batting away from or in direct contact with heat sources like down pipes or exhaust manifolds.
This heat shield is not adhesive lined, and will need to be attached using wire ties or steel hardware. If adhesion is desired it is recommended to use a high quality, high tack spray adhesive (for example 3M Super 77.)
