Z1's Nissan Frontier / Xterra Steering Light Kit adds targeted illumination exactly where you need it most when navigating technical trails after dark. Rather than trying to replace your primary driving lights, this system mounts a pair of Morimoto 1Banger LED pods directly to the steering knuckles, allowing the beam to follow the path of your tires as you steer.
Why Steering Lights?
Because the lights are mounted directly to the steering knuckles, they move with the front wheels, continuously illuminating the line your tires are about to follow. This makes it easier to place your tires on technical terrain, identify obstacles hidden under or around the vehicle, and navigate difficult climbs after dark with greater confidence. By concentrating light low on the terrain instead of projecting it outward at eye level, steering lights also make it easier for spotters to guide you through technical obstacles without being blinded by high-output auxiliary lighting. The result is better visibility for both the driver and the spotter, making communication and tire placement easier.

The Z1 Steering Light Kit includes everything needed for installation except your preferred power source.
The included 4-meter harness provides more than enough length to route both lights cleanly into the engine bay, making integration with your preferred auxiliary lighting switch, relay, or controller simple.
Beam Pattern Options
Choose the beam pattern that best matches your driving style.
Flood Pattern
The Flood pattern provides broad, even illumination around the front tires, making it an excellent choice for close-range visibility and helping spotters clearly see tire placement while navigating technical obstacles.
Combo Pattern
The Combo pattern projects light farther down the trail while still providing useful foreground illumination. To maximize suspension clearance, the mounting brackets position each light vertically. This rotates the Combo beam pattern 90 degrees, creating a taller, narrower beam that concentrates light farther ahead instead of spreading it side to side.
For this application, we consider that an advantage. Steering knuckle lights are designed to supplement your primary lighting, not replace it. The concentrated beam does an excellent job illuminating both nearby obstacles and terrain farther along the exact path your tire is about to take, while your headlights and other auxiliary lights continue providing wide forward visibility.
Designed for Titan Swap Applications
This kit was developed primarily for Titan-swapped Nissan Xterra and Frontier models equipped with low offset wheels.
Vehicles retaining factory suspension geometry may experience interference between the light housing and the front shock, depending on steering angle and light adjustment. While installation on stock-width suspension may be possible, we recommend this kit primarily for Titan-swapped vehicles where suspension clearance is significantly improved.
Wheel offset and tire width should also be considered. Wheels with high positive offset, particularly when paired with wider tires, may partially obstruct the beam pattern or reduce usable light output. During development, the kit performed exceptionally with 17x8.5 wheels featuring 0 mm offset and approximately 10-inch-wide tires, providing excellent suspension clearance and unobstructed beam coverage.
