On the 2016+ Nissan Titan equipped with the VK56VD powertrain, Nissan utilizes a technology known as VTC, or Variable Timing Control. VTC varies camshaft timing by rotating the affected camshaft relative to the sprocket using a series of electronic actuators and hydraulic solenoids.

OEM VTC Solenoids are located on the bottom of the VTC covers. These actuators are identical on both side covers.
