This is the OEM Purge Valve for the 2005-2015 Nissan Xterra.
It is found near the rear of the upper intake plenumin the engine bay. This valve vents fumes from the fuel tank to the intake under certain conditions. When they fail this often results in poor running conditions, inconsistent idle, CEL illumination, and a variety of other symptoms. Replacement is simple and can be done with basic tools within a few short minutes.
