Product Description

OEM Coolant Thermostat for the 2005-2019 Nissan Frontier equipped with the VQ40DE powertrain.

The thermostat allows coolant to flow through the engine once it has reached operating temperature.

Upon failure, the thermostat will become stuck open or closed. If the thermostat is stuck open the vehicle may not reach operating temperatures, and if it is stuck closed the engine can possibly over heat and damage other components.

Opens @ 177° - 182° F

If you have a Nissan 4.0 and need to replace a thermostat, you must use an OEM one. I used a Motorad, because of convenience. I was replacing it with this one a few days later.

Replaced stuck open thermostat with a napa thermostat at half the price. Truck started overheating. OEM from Z1 replaced napa part and truck runs normally. Napa part opened in boiling water at 215 and was cock eyed. OEM opened at 170 and wider. Napa sucks
