The Z1 Offroad High-Pressure Radiator Overflow Cap fits Nissan Xterra, Frontier and other models that use a pressurized radiator overflow tank (reservoir).
Radiator caps have a spring-loaded valve and seal that keeps a small amount of pressure in the cooling system and acts as a relief as pressure rises above normal. By increasing the pressure within the coolant system, you raise the boiling point of the coolant. This prevents cavitation caused by localized boiling as engine temperatures rise and provides a bit more insurance against damage caused by overheating in trucks used in more demanding scenarios (towing or off-roading). Located on the radiator overflow, the Z1 High-Pressure Radiator Cap replaces the stock cap which has a factory relief pressure of 1.2 Bar (17.4 PSI) with a relief pressure of 1.37 Bar (19.9 PSI).
This cap is NOT intended to be used on the radiator of these models. These models use a standard un-sprung flat cap on the radiator and instead use a pressurized radiator overflow tank to store excess coolant. It's important that you DO NOT mix up the position of these two similar-looking caps when installing.
